每個(gè)數(shù)字輸入模件有著三條隔離的輸入分電路，它們獨(dú)立地處理所有輸入給模件的數(shù)據(jù)。每一支路上的微處理器掃描每個(gè)輸入點(diǎn)、編輯各數(shù)據(jù)，并將這傳送給主處理器。然后，輸入數(shù)據(jù)在送給主處理器處理之前進(jìn)行表決，這樣以保證其**的統(tǒng)一性。

全部數(shù)字輸入模件對(duì)每一分電路保持著完全的持續(xù)性的診斷。任一分電路上的診斷到故障時(shí)，將點(diǎn)亮模件上的FAULT指示器，進(jìn)而再觸發(fā)機(jī)架的報(bào)警信號(hào)。FAULT燈點(diǎn)亮只說(shuō)明某個(gè)通道上有故障，并不是模件故障。模件能在某些故障存在的情況下繼續(xù)容錯(cuò)正常運(yùn)行。

帶自測(cè)試的TMR數(shù)字輸入模件具有連續(xù)地檢測(cè)Tricon正常得電電路躍變到OFF狀態(tài)的能力。

高密度數(shù)字輸入模件具有連續(xù)地檢測(cè)Tricon電路躍變到反向狀態(tài)的能力。

簡(jiǎn)易型數(shù)字輸入模件優(yōu)化用于低成本比**利用率更為重要的關(guān)鍵安全場(chǎng)合。在簡(jiǎn)易型模件上，只有那些保證安全運(yùn)行所需的信號(hào)通路部分才被三重化。具有專(zhuān)門(mén)的自測(cè)試電路，用不足500微秒的時(shí)間能檢測(cè)“ON”粘住和“OFF”粘住故障。這是故障安全系統(tǒng)的必備特性，它必須能及時(shí)地檢測(cè)出所以的故障，并在檢測(cè)到有輸入故障時(shí)，把測(cè)量輸入值強(qiáng)制在安全狀態(tài)。因?yàn)門(mén)ricon更適合用于“去磁跳閘”系統(tǒng)，所以在輸入電路中發(fā)現(xiàn)故障時(shí)就能把各分電路的值強(qiáng)制在“OFF”（去磁的）狀態(tài)。
